Updates from the Kick-Off and Progress Meeting of GeoPCM
Following the successful kick-off of the GeoPCM initiative, funded under the iclimabuilt project (GA: 952886), we’re excited to share updates from the progress meeting held last Monday.
Led by MNLT Innovations PC and supported by YS Cypriot Catalysts Ltd. and in.mat-lab, this collaborative session highlighted significant steps in our mission to integrate innovative #PhaseChangeMaterials (PCMs) into geotechnical applications for enhanced energy efficiency in buildings. PCMs’ desirable properties for passive building applications include low thermal conductivity, high latent heat of fusion, nonflammability, and melting points within the temperature range to ensure indoor comfort.
During the meeting, InMatLab and MNLT gave us valuable insights on the materials development, specification and evaluation, demonstrating a clear innovative character for GeoPCM. At YSCC, we presented updates on the life cycle assessment and economic feasibility analysis to assess the technology’s environmental and industrial viability.
This meeting reinforced the team’s shared vision of creating sustainable, climate-resilient technologies for the construction sector. A special thanks to our partners for the dedication, and National Technical University of Athens and EURECAT for the support on this innovation journey.
